Access Your MyTradesecrets Account

MyTradesecrets (MTS) allows apprentices and other trades program applicants to review and actively manage their program and personal information, including:

  • viewing and updating apprenticeship and personal profile information, 
  • viewing class and exam schedules,
  • viewing marks,
  • submitting applications for AIT programs and services,
  • uploading documents for AIT review
  • checking record book (competence portfolio) updates (apprentices only), and
  • paying fees online.

 

How do I access MyTradesecrets?

To access MyTradesecrets for the first time: 

  • Ensure you have submitted an approved application for an AIT program.
  • Create or make your you know your username and password for:
  • Provide:
    • your AIT ID number, and
    • a phone number or a postal code you provide on your application, or, if you are from outside Canada, your country of residence.

After you logged in for the first time, you will only need to provide your Alberta.ca Account username and password to log in again. 

Who can access MyTradesecrets?

If you have submitted an application for one of the programs listed below and your application has been approved and is active, you can access MyTradesecrets using your MyAlberta Digital ID username and password. 

  • Alberta Apprenticeship Education Programs
  • Prior Learning Assessment
  • Trades Qualifier Program - Recognized Credential
  • Trades Qualifier Program - Work Experience Application
    • Interprovincial (Red Seal) Examination 
    • Achievement in Business Competencies Program - Blue Seal 

What can I see and do on MyTradesecrets?

MyTradesecrets allows you 24 hour access to actively manage you program information. You are able to:

  • View and update apprenticeship and personal contact information
  • Check application statuses
  • View class and exam schedules
  • Register for classroom instruction
  • View marks
  • Check competence portfolio updates (apprentices only)
  • Pay fees online
  • Upload documents for AIT review

What is an AIT Identifier (AIT ID)?

You can find your AIT ID (sometimes referred to as an "AIT Number" or "Apprenticeship ID") on your

  • apprenticeship card,
  • competence portfolio (or record book), 
  • any correspondence received from AIT, or 
  • your Alberta Journeyman Certificate (if applicable).

The AIT ID will usually be a 6 or 7 digit number and may be found in the following format: 123/123456.   The AIT ID is the number following the 'slash' i.e. 123456.
