Why pay online?
Your security is important to Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT).
Applicants can pay online using VISA, Mastercard or AMEX via a convenient, safe, secure, password-protected source. Paying by credit card and debit card is still accepted at any of the 12 AIT offices across the province. Cash, money orders, and personal or certified cheques are not accepted.
What does this mean for AIT clients?
AIT and all other GoA operations are operating according to the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard which will provides AIT clients with greater protection against credit card fraud and identity theft.
The GoA Directive to implement the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard restricts the methods by which AIT can process card payments.
- AIT staff are only permitted to accept card payments by credit card through the online payment page or by credit or debit card at an AIT office.
- AIT staff cannot process credit card or debit cards payments from information provided over the telephone, by fax, by email or in regular mail.
- AIT staff cannot record or store any cardholder information.
Applicants for AIT programs and services are offered the option of paying their associated fees by credit card through a secure online payment page.
Applicants for AIT programs and services and/or their employers still have the option to visit their local AIT office to make a credit or debit card payment.
How do I make an online payment?
Applicants for AIT programs and services and/or their employers are redirected from their online application to a secure payment page to immediately process the payment.
How will I know my online payment was successfully processed?
You will receive a confirmation receipt by email. If payment was not successfully processed, a message will pop up with an option to try again or to select an alternative payment method.
Are MTS online payments secure and protected?
Yes. Applicants and employers are required to login through a password restricted screen before accessing their online applications. When they have completed their online application and elect to process their online payment, they are redirected from their online application to a secure payment page where the payment information is only accessible to Toronto Dominion (TD) Merchant Services. TD Merchant Services is the GoA-selected provider for online payment transactions and meets the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard.
Payment can be made at any AIT office using a credit card or debit card. Cash, money orders and personal or certified cheques are not accepted. After an application has been submitted to AIT, the applicant has 45 days to complete the payment before the application expires.
Corporate cheques, drafts and money orders are accepted from employers only when making a payment for multiple fees for multiple applications at one time.
AIT no longer accepts credit card information over the phone, by fax or email.
