More than 1,900 scholarships are available each year to help apprentices complete their programs.

High School Apprenticeship Scholarships Program

Pre-Apprentice Scholarships

  • $1,000
  • For graduates of a pre-apprenticeship training program who want to keep going in the trades and become full apprentices.

  • $1,000
  • For apprentices in Alberta, recognizing their excellence and encouraging completion of their apprenticeship.

Top Apprentice Scholarships 

  • $1,500
  • For apprentices who have achieved both a very high academic standing in classroom instruction and a strong employer recommendation.

World Skills Legacy Scholarship

  • These scholarships were created after the 2009 WorldSkills event in Calgary.
  • They support Alberta students and apprentices who compete in skills competitions at the provincial, national, or international level.
  • Three scholarships are awarded:
    • Two worth $500
    • One worth $9,000 paid over two years
