Calls for Proposals

The Government of Canada has launched two new open, competitive Calls for Proposals that will run from August 3, 2021 to September 14, 2021. These new Calls for Proposals support the Canadian Apprenticeship Strategy, announced in Budget 2019.

  1. Apprenticeship Service
This Call for Proposals aims to fund organizations to act as intermediaries to provide:
    • financial incentives to small and medium-sized employers to hire up to two first-year apprentices in eligible Red Seal trades per year, and
    • additional supports to help employers participate in apprenticeship.

This Call for Proposals aims to fund projects that help unions across Canada improve the quality of training through investments in equipment and materials. `This Call for Proposals prioritizes projects that:
    • help pre-apprentices and apprentices to develop environmental skills in the Red Seal trades, and
    • reduce barriers to participation and success in the trades among under-represented groups such as youth, women, persons with disabilities, Indigenous people, newcomers, and visible minorities, including Black and other racialized communities.
