Search Tips
- AIT ID numbers and certificate numbers can be found on Apprentice ID cards, trade certificates, or wallet cards.
- View samples of all certificates and cards issued by AIT.
- AIT staff cannot disclose these numbers (including to a sponsor or employer) without the individual's consent*.
- If no results are found, double check the spelling and numbers.
- For best results, use Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari.
- If the individual was certified outside of Alberta:
- Contact the issuing jurisdiction’s apprenticeship authority to check certification or apprenticeship status.
- Search results may include multiple certificates for the same trade if an individual has requested a replacement certificate.
- If the individual has a Red Seal, only the most recent certificate will reflect the Red Seal Status.
- This tool will only return results of Alberta-certified individuals and active Alberta apprentices.
- Individuals whose certificates or contracts of apprenticeship have been cancelled or suspended will not be displayed.
*Individuals may provide consent for a representative to obtain information about their AIT file by submitting a Consent to Disclose Personal Information form.
