Apprenticeship and Industry Training offices provide:
Counselling Services
- Information and advice on all apprenticeship and certification programs
- Resolution of disputes between employers and apprentices
- Information on financial assistance programs for registered apprentices
- Special requirements for qualified clients
- Certification based on work experience or out of province trade certificates
Administration Services
- Registration of apprenticeship contracts and the maintenance of competence portfolios
- Registration of qualification and equivalency applications
- Supervision of apprenticeship and Red Seal examinations
- Record management of employer and apprentices through regular shop visits
Legislation Services
- Enforcement of the Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Education Act and all regulations related to apprenticeship training, trade certification and working in the trades in the Province of Alberta
- Participates in the appeal process
