History:
The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association of Alberta (RACCAA) was founded in 1958 in order to provide the refrigeration community with the means to be more effective and to contribute to the betterment of the larger refrigeration industry, not only in Alberta, but throughout Canada.

RACCAA is an affiliate of the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) and of the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association of Canada (HRAC).

RACCAA is dedicated to the betterment of the refrigeration industry and its trades people in the Province of Alberta. RACCAA focuses its efforts on education, information and a forum for consensus building.

EDUCATION

RACCAA enables members of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry to act as leaders through heightened professionalism, professional development programs and province-wide industry forums.

RACCAA enjoys a close working relationship with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training and with the Southern Institute of Technology (SAIT) and is dedicated to ensuring that refrigeration mechanic apprentices receive the highest standards of training and support available.

INFORMATION AND SERVICES

RACCAA collects and disseminates relevant information in all areas of the trade affecting refrigeration and air conditioning contractors, suppliers and manufacturers.

ADVOCACY

RACCAA works in close co-operation with government departments at all levels to ensure that the refrigeration industry has a voice in shaping policy and legislation regarding the industry. In addition, RACCAA strives to provide an effective forum for discussion, consensus and action on member and association issues.

GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

RACCAA is market-driven and member-focused in the management and governance of the association.

OPEN MEMBERSHIP

Membership in RACCAA is open to all individuals and/or companies involved in the refrigeration industry in the province: contractor, supplier, manufacturer, or education institution.
