Classic Record Book

The classic Record Book is still in use for all trades that have not transitioned to the new record book

How to use the Classic Record Book:

When you complete a period of your Apprenticeship Education Program:

  1. Verify your hours and experience:
Ask your sponsor to verify your hours in the Verification of On-the-Job Instruction and Work Experience section of this record book (see page 5 for verification instructions).
  2. Submit your verified hours and experience:
Send the completed page(s) to Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
    • Online: through the Documents tab on your MyTradesecrets account.
    • By mail or in person: To your regional Apprenticeship and Industry Training office.

Once you have submitted your verified hours, Apprenticeship and Industry Training will:

  • Review your submission to ensure you have recorded the required number of hours and that your sponsor has verified them.
  • Issue a certificate of progress when we’ve confirmed that you’ve met the requirements for a period of apprenticeship.
  • Return the record book to you, if required.
