    Supports for Apprentices with Disabilities

Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW)

If you are an apprentice in a Red Seal trade that identifies with a disability, CCRW can help you!

The CCRW Red Seal apprentice support program meet apprentices wherever they are on their journey. Whether they're just beginning, halfway through a program, or facing challenges in completing their Red Seal Certification, CCRW can provide the support they need. Their goal is to remove barriers posed by disability so that equity is attainable. By making workplace and jobsite accommodations or assisting apprentices with educational supports, CCRW can help reduce barriers or limitations.

How it Works

What sets CCRW apart is inclusivity. Support is accessible for individuals who "self-identify" with a disability, including mental health challenges, learning disabilities, or physical disabilities.

A psychoeducational assessment or other medical proof of disability is not required to participate in this program. CCRW recognizes that sometimes these barriers can be the only thing holding apprentices back from reaching their full potential.

Intake Process

  1. Visit CCRW’s website to start the simplified intake process by submitting a contact form.
  2. An Accessibility Consultant will connect with you to set up a telephone call.
  3. A personalized consultation will allow for an individualized support plan.
  4. Apprentices self-disclose and all information is confidential.
