History:
The Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA) of Alberta is a trade Association that was established in the early 1900's for contractors and their suppliers in the plumbing, heating and mechanical contracting trades, commonly known as the "pipe trades". Although the MCA of Alberta is a provincial trade association, it is affiliated nationally with the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada and also has international affiliations with the World Plumbing Council and the International Alliance of MCA's.
The MCA of Alberta Mission and Vision Statements are as follows:
MISSION STATEMENT: To foster professional advancement and profitability of the plumbing, heating and mechanical contracting industry through its member services.
VISION STATEMENT: To draw into the Association all plumbing, heating mechanical contractors and industry affiliates through professionalism and services.
The Association represents and has as members all types and sizes of business that are non-union or union involved in commercial, institutional, industrial, service and residential work. It acts as the voice of the "pipe trades" of plumbing, heating and mechanical trades when dealing with federal, provincial and municipal industry issues. Furthermore, the MCA of Alberta actively promotes apprenticeship and has representation on the Plumber, Gasfitter, Steamfitter and Pipefitter Local and Provincial Apprenticeship Committees.
A membership in the MCA of Alberta offers to contractors and their employees many practical trade related benefits as well as the opportunity to attend general membership meetings, social and sporting events and provincial, national and international conferences.
