Register for Training

Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, and there are a limited number of seats available. Plan ahead and register early to ensure a smooth registration process and avoid disappointment.

Before your registration date:

  1. Ensure you are able to log into your MyTradesecrets account and that your contact information is up-to-date.
  2. Determine which class you wish to register in by reviewing available dates and locations.
  3. Discuss class dates with your employer to ensure they can give you time off work to attend.
  4. Review the tuition and fees required for your class and ensure you are prepared to pay the full amount upon registration.

On or after your registration date:

  1. Log into your MyTradesecrets account.
  2. Click on the Class Registrations tab. Available classes that you are eligible for will be listed. You can sort your classes by a variety of factors including date, seat availability and location.
  3. Click on the REGISTER button or the MANUAL REGISTRATION LINK. Both will take you to the training provider's page, where you will find relevant registration information.

When do I register?

  • Apprentices are eligible to enroll for classes in the next period of technical training only after they have successfully complete their previous period.
    • EXCEPTION – Apprentices presently attending classes can apply for their next period class after the fourth day of the current class. However, acceptance is conditional upon passing their present period. Any deposits paid would be subject to training provider refund policies. Apprentices must consult with their employer before enrolling in the next level of technical training.
  • Apprentices are required to attend technical training annually.
    • If you have not attended technical training in the past year, your Contract of Apprenticeship may be cancelled.
    • To avoid contract cancellation, register for technical training as soon as possible.
    • If you are no longer pursuing your apprenticeship in the trades, advise your local Apprenticeship and Industry Training office so your apprenticeship contract can be cancelled.
  • Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
    • Training space is limited and may be cancelled due to a lack of response, so register on the opening day of registration, or shortly thereafter.
