Evacuation Zone Mail Delays

If your mailing address is within area with an evacuation order, AIT will not mail any documents (certificates, record books, other mail) to you until the evacuation order is lifted.

Once the order is lifted, we will resume mailing to the address on file in your MyTradesecrets account.

Get your Mail Sooner

If you don’t want to wait for the evacuation order to be over, get your mail sooner by picking it up or having it sent somewhere else.

Pick it up at an AIT Office:

  1. Call the AIT Information Line (1-800-248-4823) and request to have mail sent to any open AIT office.
  2. Wait for confirmation that the office has received it.
  3. Pick it up in person with photo ID.

Have it sent to another address:

  1. Update your mailing address in MyTradesecrets:
    • Click the profile icon in the top right corner and then scroll to the bottom to update.
    • Make sure the new address is somewhere outside of the evacuation zone, where you can receive mail.
  2. Call the AIT Information Line (1-800-248-4823) and request to have your mail sent to the new address.

Verify your Journeyperson Status While you Wait

If you have received a notification that you have been certified, you do not need to wait for your physical certificate or wallet card to begin working as a journeyperson.

To confirm your status for an employer:

  1. Visit the Applications tab of your MyTradesecrets.
  2. Click the blue View Certifications button.
  3. Show this page to your employer, or provide the certification number listed so they can confirm it on our Tradesperson Lookup Tool.
