Championing Apprenticeship Education
April 2023 Minister Industry Roundtable
On April 18, 2023, the Honourable Kaycee Madu, Minister of Skilled Trades and Professions, held an industry roundtable discussion with industry stakeholders. The session was an opportunity examine and share perspectives on the transformation that has already occurred under the Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Education Act and to consider future strategy.
The event included presentations on how our province is modernizing our skilled trades system, workforce opportunities in the skilled trades, and strengthening apprenticeship education, including the role of Period Exams in apprenticeship education. AIT staff leading the implementation of the Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Education Act hold regular briefing sessions with industry stakeholders to provide updates about the progress of initiatives and activities related to the new act.
