The Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta (ECAA) was incorporated November 29, 1962. On May 12, 1993, the Association received professional status under the Professions and Occupations Association Registrations Act, becoming the first trade association offering Professional Electrical Contractor (PEC) designation.
Today, the ECAA has a membership of over 800 embracing contractors, electrical suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, designers, and supply authorities from all areas of the province as well as 1500 regulatory members. As a truly representative organization of electrical contractors, the ECAA is held in high regard by its members and the construction industry in general.
The Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta is known as 'The Voice and information center of the Electrical Industry in the Province of Alberta' and has eight Chapters around the Province to serve the needs of its members and the electrical industry.
