History:
Manuel Dabrowski started his apprenticeship in 1947 with Anderson Plumbing and after receiving his Master Plumbing and Gas License, worked for them for the next 12 years. In 1962, he started his own plumbing and gas service company, L&M Plumbing & Heating that he and Marion operated for the next 20 years.
In 1979, Manuel took a position with the Provincial Gas Inspection Branch
as a gas inspector and safety codes officer and after 11 years, took an early retirement. Shortly thereafter, he accepted a position with the City of Calgary Gas & Plumbing Inspection Department as a safety codes officer where he remained for the next 13 years.
He has served on the Gas Technical Council of Alberta, as a judge with Skills Canada and later as an ambassador with World Skills Canada 2009 and for 40 years, has been affiliated with the Mechanical Contractors' Association as President, past President, advisor and liaison with the Provincial Gas Inspection Branch as a Senior Technical Advisor. He maintains his designation today as an approved Safety Codes Officer for the Province of Alberta.
Manuel and his wife Marion have been scholarship donors to the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Program since 2002 and as well have donated a handibus to the Handibus Association, operated by the City of Calgary.
