History:
Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) operates Canada's newest and North-America's largest, single-line bleached kraft pulp mill. Our pulping processes were designed at a time when higher environmental standards were put in place for the pulp industry. Our company is proud to have maintained these standards through subsequent investments in technology, improved efficiencies and training for our team members.
Alberta-Pacific continues to use best available technology and advanced processes to produce nearly 650,000 air dried metric tonnes of elemental-chlorine free pulp annually. We recycle chemicals used in the pulp production process and we generate green energy by burning renewable fuel such as black liquor and wood waste in our boilers. Water is recycled multiple times before it is cooled and cleaned in our world class effluent treatment process. We are continually seeking new ways to use by-products of the pulping process to develop new products.
